Walt Disney World News from D23

The Walt Disney Company announced last night at D23 that they are planning new lands and attractions for Walt Disney World.


Opening 2025



  • Disney Starlight.  This new nighttime parade in the Magic Kingdom will be brought to life with the help of the Blue Fairy from Walt Disney’s Pinocchio.  It will feature characters from Encanto, Peter Pan and Frozen to name a few.  

  • Reimagined Test Track.  Walt Disney Imagineering and Chevrolet have teamed up to celebrate humanity’s enduring drive in this reimagining of the classic Test Track attraction in EPCOT.  Guests will embark on an adventure featuring 6 exhibits that celebrate the innovative people who design the vehicles that take us to the next chapter in our journey of motion.  It will be a joy ride through the history of transportation and end with a scenic drive to remind us of the joys of driving.




  • Zootopia Better Together.  This new show will replace It’s Tough to Be a Bug at the Tree of Life Theater on Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.




Opening 2026




  • The Mandalorian & Grogu.  A new adventure is coming to Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  Guest will have a whole new mission to fulfill with new and exciting sequences.


Opening 2027


  • Tropical Americas.  A new land will replace Dinoland USA in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.  This 11 acre section of the park will be re-themed to Tropical Americas and feature a new Indiana Jones attraction as well as rides and attractions from Disney’s Encanto.  Construction will begin this fall and is expected to be complete sometime in 2027.




Opening Dates Not Announced

  • Cars. A section of Frontierland in The Magic Kingdom will be reimagined to feature Pixar’s Cars franchise.  The area will have 2 attractions; one will be thrilling rally race through the mountains, while the other will be fun for the whole family.



  •  Monsters Inc.  Monstropolis is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios.  This new land will allow guest to visit the Laugh Factory and to tour the door vault while experiencing a thrilling suspended coaster.  Construction is slated to begin next year


  • Villains.  A new land beyond Thunder Mountain will be entering the landscape of the Magic Kingdom sometime in the future.  The new land will feature 2 new attractions, plus dining and shopping.  No construction dates have been announced.
